Amarillo KOA

I just had to make a trip into Amarillo to get my hair colored today ;-)!!! It's been three weeks! I had to!

Finally got in the road around 3.  Everything is so beautiful. 

Stopped at the Cadillac Ranch on our way out of town.  Very interesting art exhibit.  It was started in 1974 by 3 artists and you are allowed to spray paint on the ground, the cars, etc.  The girls loved it.

Drove to Santa Rosa, NM where John saw billboards advertising a "Blue Hole" so I googled it and found out it was a natural spring, so we stopped and swam.  There were picnic tables so we had dinner there.

Started seeing mountains as the sun was going down.  

Arrived in Albuquerque, NM around 9pm.  Pulled in next to a guy named Jeff who had hijacked our fire pit.  Thankfully he was friendly and we sat and talked for a while (and drank a few adult beverages) we made our S'mores.  Found out he was in IT and worked in Minneapolis so John and him hit if off right away.  Also found out they are doing somewhat the same trip we are but in reverse.  We told him about the Blue Hole and he seemed excited about taking his family there today. 

All in all we are having a great time.   Only a few spats here and there. lol!!!  Nothing major.   Seeing everything is wonderful and I go through spurts in the car of where I want to read but I want to see everything so I sit there with the book in my lap staring out the window with my mouth open catching flies.... lol.  It's all so beautiful and different than what I am used to.  Again... I will add pics later.

Finally bed around 1am!  (Since we are now on Mountain Time it was 2 for us!)
