July 28 Manhattan, KS to St. Louis, MO

Left Manhattan around 10:30am.  Stopped in Wamego at the OZ Museum and have lunch.

Drove to St. Louis, MO for the night and stayed at the KOA in Granite Falls.

July 29 St. Louis, MO Gateway Arch; Drive to Santa Claus, IN

Got up for a run and just didn't feel like it.  Ended up only doing two miles, mostly walking. :(

Drove to the Gateway Arch around 10:30 and had a great time with the girls.  Went up the arch then had lunch in the city until around 1pm.

Packed up and drove to Santa Claus, IN

Set up and went to eat at a Pizza Place and drove around for a little while then bed.

July 30 Santa Claus, IN

Ran 5 miles and then had to pack up and moved the trailer to a different spot.  Same campground, just a different site.  Oh well....

Girls and John packed bathing suits and towels and left for Holiday World and Splashin' Safari Fun Park and I..... made coffee and ate breakfast and blogged.

July 27 Kansas Day 2

Ran 5 miles then breakfast.

The girls had an actual riding lesson today and did really well.  Thank you to their awesome instructor! :)

After lunch and a trip into town for ice cream, we got to go cool off at the Westmoreland Town pool!  Reminded me a lot of the Westhaven pool.

Finally, we had a great dinner at Little Apple Brewing Company then bed!

Onto the St. Louis arch tomorrow!

Linda July 26 Kansas

Ran 7 miles.  Woke up the girls and had breakfast.

We had to put on jeans for the first time in over a month and didn't like it!   We went for a trail ride and needed to wear long pants versus shorts.

Everyone did really well on the ride I thought until we were on our way back.  Lindsay lost her balance and fell off her horse but she recovered quickly and got back on.

After that we toured Manhattan, KS and he area around it for a while and then went out to eat at the Tallgrass Taphouse.

Linda July 24-25

Ran 4 miles at Red Rocks Park and  Ampitheatre. If you start on the bottom and run each row, by the time you get to the top it's just over two miles. So I ran from the bottom to the top then too to bottom. I wasn't the only one there working out. Very cool to see so many people there running, jumping, doing yoga or just relaxing. High school track teams were there along with a surveying team and some other groups. 

Drove into Morrison to get coffee and gas then spent the rest of the day driving to Wakeeney, Kansas. 

Stayed at the Wakeeney, KS KOA that night. By the way... Happy Birthday MOM!!

July 25, 

Drove Manhattan, KS to see an old college friend that owns a few (lol) horses. Pulled in around 3:30 and he took us out to a local fair and a rodeo where it proceeded to rain on us. Thankfully that didn't last too long. 

Stayed at the fair until it closed at 11 then slept in a real bed for the first time in 3 weeks!

Linda July 23

Ran 4 miles. 

Met Aunt Mary and Uncle Chuck at the Mineral/Littleton train station around 10:30am. 

Took the train into downtown Denver and got off at the convention center. Next year's ISTE conference will be there!

Walked around the arts complex and saw some people setting up a pop up mini golf park with a Red Rocks hole :-)

Took the bus across town and visited the State Capital building, Denver Public Library and the Denver Art Museum.  The DAM was having an exhibit called In Bloom, which we went to. 

Lunch at Mad Greens (?)

Took the bus to the other end and visited Tattered Cover Bookstore. It's was killing the girls as they wanted to stay forever! 

Wynkoop Brewery was next, which was a lot of fun for everyone. The girls played shuffleboard and foozeball (sp?) while the adults relaxed and sampled beverages.

Ice cream at Union Station was next. We all had really great ice cream except Lindsay. She got the salted Oreo and it was nasty! 

Took the train back to Littleton then went swimming and had a great dinner at Aunt Mary and Uncle Chuck's house.  It was an earlier night as we were all exhausted. I was in my sleeping bag by ten! 

I want to thank my Aunt and Uncle for hosting us the last 2+ days. We had a great time! 

Linda July 22

Woke up early to get in a 4 mile training run before tackling the job of looking for a campsite. 

Had breakfast with my aunt and uncle when I retuned. The girls and John were up and relaxing with them on their back patio. 

John eventually found one campsite and reserved it around 9am in Golden, CO (where the Coors plant is, FYI). 

After driving over there and setting up and showering, my aunt and uncle drove over to pick us up around 11am. 

Drive out to Morrison, then up to the Red Rocks Park and Ampitheatre. I've wanted to see this place ever since college. A friend gave me a DVD way back when with a Moody Blues concert where they had played there and it looked like such a cool place. 

It definitely lived up to my expectations!! 

We grabbed some lunch and a margarita at the Morrison Inn.  It was really good! 

We then visited the Buffalo Bill Museum and grave. It was really interesting and yes, I learned a lot! 

After that we drive back to the campground to grab swim suits and went to my aunt and uncles house to swim. My cousin, Julie, surprised me by driving up from her house in Taos, NM!! 

After swimming for awhile we had a great dinner together and they all surprised me with an ice cream cake, a card and a birthday girl pin for my birthday!

Had a really funny game of naming state capitals after that then bed. Lol ;-)

Lindsay July 19

We rode our bikes today and my parents got scared about us because they couldn't find us. We went on the north rim where dad went on a mule rude and Emily, Mom and I went hiking and ate lunch. When dad came back we hiked more and ate dinner than left.

We went to the Grand Canyon north rim and mom, Lindsay, and I went hiking at the edge of the Grand Canyon and my dad went on a mule ride at the edge of the Grand Canyon.

Emily July 17

We went to the Grand Canyon sky walk which is this walkway made of glass that goes over the Grand Canyon. After that my dad and I did one of those things where you get on the fake bull and try to stay on.

 I stayed on longer than dad. After that we went to circus circus and rode a roller coaster that was upside down most of the time and the drops went strait down and we had nothing on our shoulders. 

Linda July 21

Had a little mommy daughter shopping with Emily at the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction Colorado. 

Drove from Grand Junction, CO to Denver, CO pulling into the Chatfield State Park around 8 PM to find out that there were no spots within a 20 mile radius at any campground or any state park plus there were no hotel rooms either. NOT a happy camper! 

My aunt and uncle live in Centennial Colorado so we (thankfully) ended up parking the travel trailer in front of their house.  I felt like Chevy Chase lol.  

Emily July 16

We went to Bonny springs ranch, it was a ghost town and they did a lot of shows. In one of them my mom hung somebody.  After the 2nd show we went to eat lunch. After lunch we went to a petting zoo where the animals that would bite or could fly away or something we're in the pens and the ones who didn't would walk around the petting zoo (where an animal peed on Lindsay). There were chickens, peacocks, deer, wolfs (my favorite animal), and a lot more. The deer kept trying to eat everybody's shirt and by the time we left my shirt was gooey because of the deer spit. Then we went to red rock canyon where Lindsay dad and I hiked/climbed on some rocks even though we were in flip flops. After that we did an awesome roller coaster at the hotel "New York, New York"  yes I meant to put two New York because that is how it was. It was an awesome roller coaster

Lindsay July 17

Today we went to the Grand Canyon and we walk over the Grand Canyon on see through glass. We hiked after we ate some lunch, we went really high 😨!

We looked around for a while than left and went on El Loco a upside down ride with nothing to hold your shoulders it was at Circus Circus🎪🎢. That was out last day in Las Vegas🎰.

Lindsay July 16

We went to Bonnie Springs ghost town. We saw lots of animals and we went to Red Rock Canyon. We went into the canyon, than we went to the Las Vegas strip and went on the New York-New York rollar coaster. We walked to the high roller and we went 550 ft in the air on the high roller.

Yesterday we went from Arizona through Utah to Colorodo and we drove all day and I read all day. I read Percy Jackson all day and we stopped at a few stops that's about it.
